An indoor-outdoor renovation got underway at WESTFIELD SOUTH SHORE in July 2012. It was completed in August 2013. Here we see the "dynamic sculptural awning" that now graced the mall's Main Entrance.

In this view, a newly-installed soft seating area appears in the foreground. In the distance is the mallway entrance of a new -downsized- Macy's. This 200,000 square foot structure replaced a larger store that had been built in the early 1960s.

The 1990s-vintage Food Court was also given an update. The 12-bay culinary complex now featured Popeye's Fried Chicken, Lasaka House of Noodles, Charley's Philly Steaks and Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips.

Our most recent SOUTH SHORE plan shows the configuration of the complex following its 2010s face lift. The new Macy's is shown along with inline store space (light gray). This was built for trendy retailers such as Michael Kors, White House/Black Market and Pandora. On the north end of the mall, a vacant Sears has been retenanted by Dick's Sporting Goods.
