DIMOND CENTER is the heart of a large concentration of retail facilities on Anchorage's south side. A plaza, east of the mall, was known as the KMART CENTER for years (Kmart closed in 2003). Today, the largest tenant is Sam's Club. North of DIMOND CENTER is DIMOND CROSSING, which houses Burlington and PetSmart. A WalMart Supercenter is also in the vicinity.

A circa-2025 plan shows how area once occupied by Gottschalks -and then Forever 21- has been divided into fifteen stores. Forever 21 downsized into the vacant space in the southwest corner. A small mall expansion, on the northwest corner, added Olive Garden and Chili's. The mall now covered around 736,600 leasable square feet. There were fifty-nine stores and services, two kiosks, and twenty-four leased office spaces.
