The Professional (Office) Tower at DIMOND CENTER was dedicated in 1987. It included a bowling alley, fitness center and Ice Chalet skating rink.

As mentioned, the mall was expanded between the summer of 1981 and fall of 1982. The "Phase Two" section (in dark gray) housed an enlarged Pay 'n Save and newly-built Lamonts. 5 years later, the "Phase Three" Professional Office Tower (in medium gray) added three levels of retail. With these improvements, DIMOND CENTER encompassed around 410,000 leasable square feet and housed 110 stores. Free parking was provided for 850 autos.

With its early '80s expansion, DIMOND CENTER trumped the 339,300 square foot NORTHWAY MALL, which had been the largest shopping complex in Alaska since 1980.
