In 1976, the shiny new CHARLES TOWNE SQUARE encompassed around 550,000 leasable square feet, with space for fifty-five stores and services. Free parking was provided for 2,300 autos.
Photos of CHARLES TOWNE SQUARE are difficult to come by. Here is the only snapshot that I could find. The mall's Montgomery Ward was renovated in the early 1990s, when a new-style "Wards" nameplate replaced its original "Blue Bar" trademark.
