At the time of a circa-2001 plan, NUGGET MALL houses thirty-nine retail spaces. The east anchor spot is occupied by California's Gottschalks chain...but not for long. The store would be shuttered in July 2002.

The vacant Gottschalks space was leased to temporary tenants for several years. In 2011-2012, it was reconfigured as new Petco and Office Max stores. These incorporated all of the old Gottschalks, as well as an adjoining 8,000 square feet.
