Pomona, California's Seafood City, carrying a wide array of Filipino and Asian foods, originated in San Diego in the late 1980s. Its first out-of-California branch began business in Nevada in March 2002, followed by a Washington State store, in July 2010. As of 2012, there are seventeen Seafood City locations, with plans in the air for openings in Hawaii, New York City and the Washington, DC suburbs of Virginia.
