VILLAGE MALL was outpositioned by two local shopping centers. By the mid-1990s, it was virtually vacant. The complex was acquired by Cleveland's Allan Jones in 1998. A major renovation was soon underway, with the name of the mall being changed to THE VILLAGE GREEN.

The renovation and repositioning was done over 10 years. By 2011, the moribund mall had been reimagined as Cleveland's premier business center. THE VILLAGE GREEN now covered approximately 211,000 leasable square feet. It contained twenty-seven retail, restaurant, fitness and office spaces beneath its space-age awnings.

A contemporary aerial view looks southward. At front center is the old Miller's department store. It was designed for the addition of a second floor...that was never built. In the here & now, several freestanding structures surround the mall. These include Starbucks Coffee, Lending Frog, The Village Office Building and a Social Security office.

Gold's Gym took over an existing fitness center at THE VILLAGE GREEN. The facility, which includes ground level and basement space, comprises 30,400 square feet.

Bald Headed Bistro welcomed first diners in the fall of 2004. Executive Chef Wesley True was given an ownership share in August 2019 and established full ownership in June 2020. The restaurant closed briefly and was renovated. It re-opened, as True at BHB, in September 2020.

In this snapshot, we see what was originally a supermarket. Over the years, the building has housed several business and office tenants, including the Cleveland-Bradley Chamber of Commerce.
