A circa-2007 physical layout. The mall had become a Westfield property in November 1998. In the ensuing years, several changes were made. A Food Court was installed in reconstructed space in 2003 and Best Buy set up shop in a vacant Lamonts. A freestanding cluster center, THE PROMENADE AT WESTFIELD CAPITAL, opened in 2006. In 2007, the mall-connected Century megaplex was dedicated.

WESTFIELD CAPITAL was sold to an East Coast investment group in late 2013. Following the transaction, it assumed its original name...CAPITAL MALL. A few things have changed since the 2007 plan. A vacant Mervyn's has been divided into three inline stores, a Dick's Sporting Goods built and new Cost Plus World Market and H & M stores proposed.
