A circa-2007 physical layout of the mall, which had become a Westfield property in November 1998. In the ensuing years, several changes were made. A Food Court was installed in rebuilt mall space in 2003, followed by a new Best Buy (in a vacant Lamonts). A freestanding cluster center, THE PROMENADE AT WESTFIELD CAPITAL, opened in 2006. A new Century movie megaplex was dedicated in 2007.

A more contemporary plan of the complex, which was sold to an East Coast investment group in late 2013. Following the transaction, it assumed its original name...CAPITAL MALL. Since the 2007 plan above, a few things have changed. The vacant Mervyn's was divided into three inline stores and a vacant Border's, in THE PROMENADE, was retenanted by T.J. Maxx.
