Mesquite's TOWN EAST MALL, a Homart / Sears development, was among the four Texas Metroplex Malls of 1971. The other three were IRVING MALL {in Irving}, FORUM 303 MALL {in Arlington} and -of course- NORTH EAST MALL.

RICHLAND PLAZA had opened, in North Richland Hills, in August of 1962. The fourth mall-type complex in the Metroplex, it was anchored by Montgomery Ward, J.C. Penney, S.S. Kresge and a Buddies supermarket. The PLAZA was done in by NORTH EAST MALL. After languishing in various stages of abandonment, it was converted to an office complex in 1999.
