In 1972, news surfaced about a new Grants store format. "Grant City" units would sell all matter of general merchandise but not include a supermarket. Operations ranged in size between 60,000 and 180,000 square feet. The first stores debuted in January 1973.


Home furnishings were just one of many lines of merchandise sold by Grant City stores.

Everything was Bradford! Grant City stores also carried lines of Bradford-brand phonographs, tape recorders, televisions and console stereos.
