In this circa-'76 plan, the original strip complex is shown in black. Montgomery Ward and B-ham-based Pizitz were added as anchors in 1959 and 1961, respectively. Following a twister tear up, in 1974, the venue was reworked into the fully-enclosed center seen here (newly-built retail area is indicated in gray).

As this circa-1984 logo would attest, "The Best Keeps Getting Better". Actually, by this time, things weren't looking all that great for the shopping hub. Hit by some stiff competition from the shiny new MADISON SQUARE, PARKWAY CITY would soon be on the skids. A plan to raze and replace was in place by 1999.
