Master mall designers Victor Gruen and John Graham reputedly argued over the proper width of the standard mallway. Gruen preferred an expansive corridor of up to 70 feet, as demonstrated by this view of Southern California's RIVERSIDE PLAZA.

On the other hand, Mr. Graham thought that a mallway should be no wider than the 44 foot "Miracle Mall" at Seattle's NORTHGATE CENTER.
