The mall was expanded farther northward in a couple of stages. Two store blocks (in dark gray) were in place by 1969. Soon after, a large Sears was built, that was dedicated in November 1973. This completed the basic footprint of the mall. It was enclosed and climate-controlled in the late 1970s. At the time of this circa-1980 plan, ANTIOCH CENTER spanned approximately 700,000 leasable square feet.

The Kansas-based Showbiz Pizza Place opened its first location at ANTIOCH CENTER in early 1980. The combination restaurant, video arcade and animatronic entertainment venue was renamed Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza in 1992.
