Zooming through time, we arrive at the WARD PARKWAY CENTER of 2005. Renovations over the past 5 years have transformed the retail hub into a hybrid mall and big box power center. Much of the original State Line (or Upper) Level has been ripped out, with stores such as Pier 1 Imports and T.J. Maxx opened to the adjacent parking area. Target has also replaced an abandoned Montgomery Ward.

Dick's Sporting Goods set up shop in the Ward Parkway Level of a vacant J.C. Penny space. The store opened in the fall of 2000 and closed in early 2015. Several other stores have come and gone in the past few years, such as Stein Mart, Steve & Barry's University Sportswear, Staples, New York & Company and Catherine's.
