Chicagoland's Dixie Square Mall

A rendering of original -circa-1966- DIXIE SQUARE signage. The complex experienced one of the shortest rise and fall trajectories of any American retail center...a mere 13 years. Following its shuttering in 1978-1979, the mall was to sit decomposing for 33 years before it was finally demolished in early-to-mid 2012.
