The shopping hub was anchored by two middle-market department stores that are now nearly forgotten. Miami-based Jefferson's (a.k.a. the "Jefferson Store") stood on the north end. New York City-based Britts (an upscale division of J.J. Newberry 5 & 10s) sat on the south.


There are few -if any- BOCA MALL photos to be found on the internet, so we had to improvise. This drawing depicts the Walgreen Drug & Grill, which opened for business in March 1975.
