A retail resuscitation was done to the struggling mall in the early 2000s. The southern section was redeveloped as a satellite campus for the University of Alaska Anchorage. The remainder of the complex was retenanted with new stores and services, such as the LaZboy Furniture Galleries.

Sadler's Home Furnishings was another major store to open in the retail portion of the mall.

The north anchor, originally a Safeway supermarket, more recently a Natural Pantry Fresh Market. This relocated to a new stand-alone store in January 2014.
