Above we have a view of the Upper Level of the original complex. It was radically different from most other malls built in the early 1970s, which had dark interiors and little -or no- natural lighting. As one can see, the concourse at MALL IN COLUMBIA was virtually open to the heavens, via a series of skylights and clerestory windows.
