March 1998. A contemporary site plan includes a newly-built J.B. White department store. It increases the size of the five-anchor buying behemoth to approximately 1,215,800 leasable square feet.


J.B. White, Augusta's hometown department store, was added to the south end of AUGUSTA MALL and was rebranded as a result of Dillard's 1998 acquisition of Ohio's Mercantile Stores. The Dillard's nameplate replaced the White's brand in February 1999.
