J.C. Penney debuted, as a freestanding downtown store, in January 1965. It became an anchor of NORDSTROM MALL in 1980. The Skybridge connection to the adjacent shopping hub may be seen in the background.

The Larry Moyers Salem Centre Movieland Theatres opened, as part of SALEM CENTRE, in May 1989. The theater shut down and re-opened, as today's Cinnebarre Salem 7, in November 2009.
