CENTRE AT GLEN BURNIE began to decline in the early 21st century. Major tenants pulled up stakes, such as Best Buy (2010) and Dick's Sporting Goods (2013). A mall-to-power center renovation was announced in 2017. A renewed complex, promoted as a "premier outdoor shopping center", was to emerge in 2018.

In a post-demalling CENTRE AT GLEN BURNIE layout, portions of the retail complex left standing are indicated in black. Newly built sections, including a prospective cinema, appear in gray. The shuttering of hhgregg and Toys "R" Us, in 2017 and 2018, present a possible stumbling block to the mall's redevelopment.
