MELLETT MALL was less than 3 years old before an expansion started. Performed between 1967 and 1969, the renovation added an Akron-based O'Neil's, fully-enclosed East Wing and full-line Montgomery Ward. A roof was also installed over the original shopping concourse. The complex now encompassed around 750,000 leasable square feet and contained sixty-two tenant spaces.
