The west anchor at YORKTOWN CENTER retained its original branding into the 21st century, although the nameplate had been updated. The store closed, due to The Bon Ton Stores bankruptcy, in mid-2018. This left J.C. Penney as the mall's only remaining original anchor.

The east anchor, which opened as a Windy City-based Wieboldt's, went dark in July 1987 and sat vacant for 7 years. Von Maur renovated the building and dedicated their store in July 1994.

The Plaza Food Court had been installed -on the mall's Upper Level- during a 1993-1994 face lift. It was rebuilt during the 2013-2014 mall makeover and renamed The Eatery. The refurbished culinary complex now housed 11 vendors.

An abandoned Carson's at YORKTOWN CENTER has been demolished and is being replaced by YORKTOWN RESERVE, a mixed-use project. A new mall entrance will open onto a large plaza. Four and five-story apartment towers will be built in the adjacent parking area. Moreover, 36,400 square feet of new retail and restaurant space will be created.
