Sears & Roebuck, Chi-Town's hometown general merchandise department store, built one of their largest suburban locations at the RIVER OAKS mall. The unit encompassed 338,000 square feet on 2 levels.

Another Chicago-centric retail giant co-anchored RIVER OAKS CENTER. Marshall Field & Company's store spanned 260,000 square feet over 3 floors. Its resident restaurant was known as The Tea Room.
