An early '70s aerial shows the new East Mall at DADELAND. It consisted of a fully-enclosed shopping concourse extending from Burdine's to a newly-built J.C. Penney.

Another early '70s aerial view looks toward the east. As construction on the new East Mall proceeded, the existing structure -or West Mall- was enclosed and air-conditioned.
