The Hendon Properties plans were eventually abandoned. A new owner came on board in mid-2014 and announced that the shopping center demalling, first proposed in 2004, would soon get underway. Meanwhile, NORTH DEKALB MALL would lose its Macy's and Ross stores (both shut down in 2016).

The third in our collection of NORTH DEKALB redevelopment plans dates to 2016. This time around, a mixed-use facility known as DECATUR LANDING was proposed. A Costco store, on the drawing board since 2004, would have operated with various retail, residential, culinary and hospitality components.

The AMC North Dekalb 16 was the third theatrical venue to operate at the mall. It showed first features in December 1996. The theater will be part of an all-new mall redevelopment known as LULAH HILLS.

Mass-based Marshalls has maintained a presence at NORTH DEKALB MALL since October 2010. They are also participating in the new LULAH HILLS complex.

We submit for your approval the fourth -and final- redevelopment plan. The new & improved LULAH HILLS facility will tie together retail, residential, hospitality and entertainment components. The AMC movie megaplex and Marshalls -surrounded in blue- were the only section of the mall left standing when it was demolished in mid-2024.
