Titche-Goettinger (a.k.a. Titche's) was one of the first operational tenants at IRVING MALL. The 190,000 square foot store made its debut in February 1971.

A 94,000 square foot Sears also opened for business in February 1971. It would anchor the north end of IRVING MALL for 38 years.

Gordon's Jewelers was one of forty-six inline stores dedicated during a mall-wide grand opening, held in August 1971. At this time, the Houston-based chain was operating over 250 stores in twenty-six states.

The 1971 footprint of IRVING MALL. In its original state, the complex encompassed approximately 750,000 leasable square feet and had spaces for seventy-eight stores. The parking area could accommodate 4,000 autos.
