A vintage view of the Central Court at LAKEHURST MALL. The metal mobile sculpture was created by New York City's Joseph McDonald, at a cost of 20 thousand dollars. Behind the escalator, on the Lower Level, we see an outlet of Indiana's Wimpy hamburger chain. Its United States stores were shuttered in the late 1970s.

In our second LAKEHURST layout, we might notice that the north anchor has been retenanted. After Wieboldt's closed in 1986, the building was used as a temporary elementary and middle school. In 1988, the first floor of the structure was partitioned into six store spaces; the largest leased by Dunham's Sports. Montgomery Ward set up shop in the second floor.
