In 2017, a new redevelopment plan for THE HEIGHTS AT MONMOUTH was drawn up. In this rendering, we see the South Wing at THE HEIGHTS, as it would appear post-renovation.

In this tentative plan, we see that the South Wing has been razed and rebuilt as an open-air promenade. The J.C. Penney and Lord & Taylor buildings have been retained, with Boscov's assuming the latter. The North Wing would remain relatively unchanged. New retail and restaurant space would be added to its northwest corner.

The third time is the charm! By 2024, a third redevelopment plan for MONMOUTH MALL had been drawn up. This time around, vacant Penney's and Lord & Taylor stores would be razed, along with most of the South Wing. A 10-unit apartment complex will surround a central green space. Ground was broken for the new MONMOUTH SQUARE complex in May 2024.
