Welcome to the largest mall and retail history site on the internet. The MALL HALL OF FAME is a vintage shopping mall scrapbook. Its focus is on shopping complexes built -in the USA- between 1946 and 1979. Don't forget to visit our four Shopping Mall Memory Lanes, which transport you through time to a mall in 1956, 1963, 1970 and 1977!

A southwest mall expansion was completed in the year 2000. Two sit-down restaurants opened in September. In November, Barnes & Noble, Nordstrom Rack and a Regal 12-plex made their debut. NORTHTOWN MALL now encompassed over 1 million leasable square feet and was the largest shopping mall in the Inland Northwest.

A newly-built Mervyn's began business at NORTHTOWN in 1991. The store closed in February 2007 and re-opened, as the Kohl's seen here, in October of the same year.
