Welcome to the largest mall and retail history site on the internet!

The first two operational MOUNDS MALL stores were the aforementioned Wards and H.P. Wasson. These were dedicated in November 1964. A mall-wide dedication was held in May 1965, with twenty-three stores opening their doors. J.C. Penney (in dark gray) joined the fold in January 1969. By 1974, the shopping hub contained thirty-two tenants. There were also five outparcel businesses, including two cinemas.
