We zoom ahead in time to the late 20th century. The mall became part of the newly-incorporated city of Citrus Heights in 1997. The complex has not been physically expanded, but some anchor stores have changed nameplates. Liberty House became a Macy's Women's in 1984, in conjunction with a Men's Store in BIRDCAGE WALK across the boulevard. After Weinstock's shut down in 1996, the SUNRISE MALL store re-opened as a new Macy's Men's.
