Store # 112 was 8,000 square feet larger than the original in-mall location. It was also one of the first in the chain to include a bakery, delicatessen and Fresh Flower Boutique. There were twelve check-out lanes.

The vacant Hinky Dinky space in the mall was renovated. It re-opened, as a Lincoln-based Hovland Swanson, in February 1972. This new GATEWAY CENTER junior department store was the first of three suburban branches.
