Welcome to the largest mall and retail history site on the internet!

Another Pittsburgh-based retail chain anchored the east end of the mall. The Joseph Horne Company (a.k.a. Horne's) was in business at MONROEVILLE between August 1969 and August 1994. The store would operate under the Lazarus and Lazarus-Macy's nameplates until it was converted to a bona fide Macy's, in February 2005.

The Curator stands at the northwest mall entrance.

Along a northwest entrance wall is a presentation of the mall's unique history. "Dawn of the Dead," a definitive zombie horror movie of the 1970s, was filmed at MONROEVILLE.
