The SEARS EL MONTE CENTER anchor store was one of the chain's largest suburban locations when it opened, in November 1958. The store encompassed 263,900 square feet and included a 29-bay Auto Center, service station, catalog order desk, garden department and Peggy Kellog Snackette.
