The East Bay's Alcosta Mall

This late '60s-vintage mini mall is the most obscure of the 400-plus retail complexes inducted onto this website. No photos can be found on the internet. It's almost as if the place never existed. Be that as it may, we were able to assemble a logo montage of ALCOSTA MALL stores.

Super S was a drug and variety store division of Safeway Stores super-
markets. An original ALCOSTA MALL store, Super S opened for business in
January 1966.

After only 5 months in business, the ALCOSTA MALL Super S morphed into a Safeway Drug Center. Note how this ad indicates that the "9485 Village Parkway" store is in Dublin (the City of San Ramon would not be incorporated until the early 1980s).
