Welcome to the largest mall and retail history site on the internet. The MALL HALL OF FAME is a vintage shopping mall scrapbook. Its focus is on shopping complexes built -in the USA- between 1946 and 1979. This site includes historical sections about regional department stores, discount stores, 5 & 10 stores and supermarkets. Don't forget to visit our four Shopping Mall Memory Lanes, which transport you through time to a mall in 1956, 1963, 1970 and 1977!
In this snapshot, and the two that follow, we see contemporary views of Fort Worth's premier shopping center. Nameplates for Forever 21 and Nordstrom dominate this image. The Seattle-centric retailer joined the mall in March 2001.

Dillard's has been a player at NORTH EAST MALL since 1975. A "double-header" was in operation at the mall between January 1986 and October 1999, when the store seen above was dedicated. It consolidated Dillard's East (the old Leonard's) and Dillard's West (the former Stripling's) into a single building.

In this view, we have Genghis Grill in the foreground, with a Rave megaplex looming in the distance. This state-of-the-art theater replaced a vacant Montgomery Ward in November 2004.
