Welcome to the largest mall and retail history site on the internet. The MALL HALL OF FAME is a vintage shopping mall scrapbook. Its focus is on shopping complexes built -in the USA- between 1946 and 1979. This site includes historical sections about regional department stores, discount stores, 5 & 10 stores and supermarkets. Don't forget to visit our four Shopping Mall Memory Lanes, which transport you through time to a mall in 1956, 1963, 1970 and 1977!
J.C. Penney became an anchor of NORDSTROM MALL in 1980. The Skybridge connection to the adjacent shopping hub may be seen in the background of this snapshot.

A recent snapshot of the mall's Nordstrom. In 2004, the shopping hub's official name was altered. SALEM CENTRE became SALEM CENTER.

The Larry Moyer Salem Centre Movieland opened, as part of SALEM CENTRE, in the late 1980s. The movie house shut down and re-opened, as today's Cinnebarre Salem 7, in 2009.
