The original FRAMINGHAM MALL was only in existence for 20 years. By the turn of the century, it had run its course. It was bulldozed in the year 2000, leaving only the Filene's Basement building (in black) standing. A TARGET discount department store and block of three inline retail spaces were built. The old Filene's Basement was reconfigured as a HomeGoods. The new and improved shopping center was dedicated late in late 2001.
