Several expansions are shown in this 1983 plan. The first added a second floor to Nordstrom. A Stage I West End enlargement appears in light gray. Stage II added a Liberty House store, which eventually morphed into the Frederick & Nelson seen here. An East Wing addition appears in darker gray. It brought a fifth anchor (Sears). TACOMA MALL now covered 1,400,000 leasable square feet and contained 130 stores. For a time, it was the Pacific Northwest's largest mall. 


The TACOMA MALL Food Court was installed in a vacant Lucky Stores space. The culinary complex opened in May of the year 2000.
