By the early 2000s, the complex was in decline. It was revitalized in two stages. The first, done between 2001 and 2002, added the aforementioned cinema and Target. A more comprehensive refurbishment began in 2004. The northwest store block was replaced with new Kohl's and Bed Bath & Beyond stores. With these improvements, the complex encompassed around 871,000 leasable square feet, with free parking for 2,700 autos.

The mall achieved its 60th year in business in November 2017. There
were fifty-seven stores and services. By the 2020s, the complex was
in a second downward spiral. Bed Bath & Beyond pulled up stakes in
2023. The 66-year-old Macy's closed for good in March 2024.
