In 2005, the mall's lengthy moniker was shortened to simply WESTFIELD TRUMBULL. A 35 million dollar renovation project got underway in the fall of 2009 and was completed in the fall of 2010. In this rendering, we see a newly-refurbished shopping concourse.

By the time of a circa-2014 layout, the old D.M. Read building has been razed and replaced by a new Target; this dedicated in the fall of 2008. The Cheesecake Factory opened for business in space adjacent to Lord & Taylor. This anchor store was shuttered in February 2021.
