The exterior face lift of the mall had commenced in September 1988. The entire project wrapped up 11 months later, with completion of an interior refurbishment. A "Grand Re-opening" was held in August 1989. A new mall logo was also commissioned.

Lastly, we see a section of rebuilt sidewalk. The circa-1973 exposed store service doors seen above have been hidden from view behind a series of brick enclosures.
