A massive reconfiguration of HILLDALE CENTER was done between 2004 and 2011. Trendy Streetscape retail, two parking structures, several row houses and a freestanding Target were built. Robert Redford's Sundance Cinemas opened their first location, which was named "608" as a homage to the local telephone area code. With these alterations, HILLDALE CENTER (sans Target) encompassed 433,000 leasable square feet and fifty-eight store spaces.
During a subsequent renovation of HILLDALE CENTER, the north section of mall was rebuilt as an open-air promenade (shown in light gray). The south section of enclosed mall, and existing Metcalfe's Market, remain as is...at least for the time being.
