In a circa-1963 aerial view we see the "weather-conditioned" mall and its shadow anchor Sears (in the upper left). This freestanding store predated SUNSET CENTER by nearly 3 years. J.C. Penney (in the lower right) was originally a 1-level store, with a partial second floor.
