Philly's Food Fair chain junior-anchored PAROLE PLAZA between 1962 and 1970. Following Food Fair, the store operated as a Pantry Pride. By 1985, a Rockville, Maryland-based Magruder's supermarket had set up shop. This store was shuttered in July 1995 and was the final tenant to operate in the space.

After languishing as a vacant and deteriorating structure for several years, PAROLE PLAZA was unceremoniously demolished. A very upscale lifestyle center was built, which opened for business between October 2008 and April 2009. ANNAPOLIS TOWNE CENTRE AT PAROLE, seen directly above, encompasses 2.1 million square feet of retail, office and residential components.
