One of Neisner's early shopping mall stores was located at Dallas' A. HARRIS OAK CLIFF CENTER. The variety store and open-air mall were dedicated in February 1956.

Another early shopping mall unit was located in the PLAZA CENTER mall, in Plantation, Florida (a Fort Lauderdale suburb). Said store and mall were completed in 1958.

The trusty luncheonette was a main feature of many Neisner's 5 & 10s.

The Port Charlotte, Florida Neisner's was a freestanding unit. It opened for business in 1960.

A dual-trademark logo was in use by 1978. This promoted both Neisner's store formats; the "Discount Department Store" (known as BigN) and conventional 5 & 10 (a.k.a. "Convenience Discount Store").

The Ames chain acquired the holdings of a struggling Neisner's company in early 1979. Before the year was out, Neisner's stores (what few that were still open) had been co-branded.
