In the 21st century, the west anchor at YORKTOWN CENTER retained its original branding, although the nameplate had been updated. The store closed, due to The Bon Ton Stores bankruptcy, in mid-2018. This left J.C. Penney as the mall's only remaining original anchor.

The east anchor, which opened as a Windy City-based Wieboldt's, went dark in July 1987 and sat vacant for 7 years. Von Maur renovated the building and dedicated their store in July 1994.

The Plaza Food Court had been installed -on the mall's Upper Level- during a 1993-1994 face lift. It was rebuilt during the 2013-2014 mall makeover and renamed The Eatery. The refurbished culinary complex now housed 11 vendors.
