The mall was completed in four stages. The first, with Montgomery Ward and Kroger, opened in September 1959. The second, including the first section of enclosed concourse, debuted in October 1961. The third, with J.C. Penney, was dedicated between August and November 1962. The final segments were completed between June and September 1963, with the shopping hub encompassing approximately 596,400 leasable square feet.
