The east facade of the original open-air mall. From this vantage point, we see White Stores (a.k.a. White's), Woolworth's, Mading Drugs and Meyer Brothers. The MEYERLAND PLAZA store was the tenth location of the Houston-based chain.

The first motion picture venue at the complex, the Meyerland Cinema I & II, opened for business in April 1965. It was built -and dedicated- in conjunction with identical theaters at Houston's GULFGATE and NORTHLINE malls.
